NutrientsDB: Global nutrition API

One unified database consolidating fragmented global food records into a single scalable resource.

Problem

Nutrition data is fragmented across dozens of national and institutional databases - USDA, EFSA, FAO, regional governments, academic projects. Each uses different schemas, identifiers, units of measure, and conventions. Building any product on top of it requires reconciling all of them first, which is months of work most teams cannot afford.

Solution

NutrientsDB is a single consolidated database that ingests, normalizes, and unifies global food records into one schema. It is exposed through a clean API designed for businesses, researchers, and developers - so the integration work is done once, centrally, instead of by every team that needs the data.

Outcome

Used worldwide as a foundational data layer for food, nutrition, and health applications. Companies, universities, and individual developers build on top of it rather than starting from scratch.
